Marbella Summer Events – alive and kicking!

Marbella is fully alive as always, buzzing with activities and loads of things to do and places to visit.

In Puerto Banús on the Playa de Levante you can enjoy sand sculptures anywhere from 3 to 6 meters high!! The International Sand Sculpture Festival started on July 18th and will continue until the 14th of October. As every year the “Summer Market” is present on the main square in Puerto Banús, Plaza Antonio Banderas. Anything from cloths, jewelry, food up to cosmetic products and toys are available. It will be there until September 15th.

The fabulous exposition “The Human Body” is still here until September 14th in the Palacio de Congresos y Exposiciones de Marbella (the Marbella Congress Centre). A spectacular tour through the human body presented in a way suitable for adults and children, along with sounds, music, images and lights!!

Of course there are concerts of world famous artists like the Simple Minds, Julio Iglesias, Raphel, Chaka Khan, George Benson, Roger Hodson (Supertramp), Paul Anka to name just a few. Please check when and where they perform (or if you’re just too late).

The Don Carlos Hotel, Nikki Beach, Funny Beach, Sala Beach and many other (if not all) of the known places organize events, special lunches & diners and theme nights where one can enjoy!!! Anything from barbeques, pool parties, champagne parties, Sunday brunch, beach club diners and so on and so on!!!

As we all know the Costa del Sol offers many year round attractions and things to do. There are attraction parks, water sports, boat rentals, museums, cinemas, bike rentals, inland (rural) adventures, para gliding, horse back riding, 50+ golf courses to choose from,  And of course in winter time you can even ski in Sierra Nevada at only a 2 hour drive from Marbella.

One more thing:

Outside Marbella but within a reasonable travel distance you can find a world of interesting places to visit. I’ll just mention a few. How about a visit to beautiful cities surrounding Marbella like Málaga, Ronda, Tarifa (kite surfing and amazing beaches), Cordoba (with its Mesquita – on the UNESCO World Heritage list), Granada (with its Alhambra etc – of course also on the UNESCO World Heritage list), Sevilla or even Madrid (just 2,5 hours with the high-speed train).

When spending your holiday or (even better) when you live in Marbella, you can enjoy the local beaches, the sea, the city it self but also many places, cities and events in the area and within Andalucia.
